Bio

I was born and raised in Portland and am proud to call it my hometown. Early in life, I couldn’t see well.  I had to start wearing eyeglasses at a very young age and made frequent trips to my eye doctor. This experience led to a keen interest in learning about the human eye and how vision works, and to my eventual career in optometry. I received my doctorate degree in optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, and completed my residency training in family practice optometry at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.

I practice comprehensive optometry, which means that I provide all types of eye examinations, from routine exams for glasses and contacts to diabetic retinal evaluations to diagnostic exams for disorders of the eyes and visual system. Conditions that I diagnose and treat include eye infections (red eyes), dry eye, glaucoma and macular degeneration. I also provide pre- and post-operative care for cataract and LASIK surgery.

I see patients of all ages and enjoy learning about them and their families. My approach is to listen attentively to recommend the best treatment options for each individual’s needs and concerns.

Outside of work, I like to stay active by going to the gym, walking or riding a bike around the neighborhood, and hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I enjoy the company of friends and family, whether it is just hanging out or trying a new restaurant. You also can find me working on home improvement projects around the house.
