The Portland Clinic has telemedicine options that allow you to visit our providers by video or phone for many health issues, from the convenience of your own home.
If you have a health issue that needs attention, but you’d rather not come to the office, call our scheduling line at 503-223-3113 and ask whether telemedicine might work for you. We’ll check with your provider and will call you back to schedule the most appropriate type of visit.
- PLEASE NOTE: Telemedicine visits are for established patients of The Portland Clinic and the patient must physically be in the state of Oregon at the time of the visit.
Not all of our providers offer telemedicine, and not every issue is appropriate for it. For example, we need to see you in person for an audiology appointment. But many issues lend themselves to telemedicine very well, such as:
- Follow-up care
- Sick visits
- Some post-operative care
- Reviews of medications or lab results
For telephone visits, all you need is a phone. Please be available 15 minutes before and after your appointment time to make sure we reach you.
Video visits require a little more technology: you’ll need access to a cellular or network connection and an electronic device such as a tablet, a smartphone, or a desktop or laptop computer equipped with speakers and a webcam. You’ll also need a MyChart account. If you plan to schedule a video visit, be sure to read our Video Visit Tip Sheet and test your equipment before your appointment. As with phone visits, please be available 15 minutes before and after your appointment time.
The Portland Clinic’s telemedicine capabilities are safe and secure. Video visits with us are not recorded, and all video/audio is encrypted. Our goal, always, is to keep both you and your information safe.
We always enjoy seeing our patients in person, but we understand it might not always be convenient for you to come to the clinic. We hope that our telemedicine options will help you stay connected with your health care team. If you’re living with a chronic condition, or you’re concerned about new symptoms, it’s essential to stay in touch with your provider.
