Manage your health care with Hello World text notifications

Hello World two-way text notifications give you more options to easily manage your health care. Receive updates via text and just text back to take action. It’s safe, secure and convenient.

How does it work?

As a patient, once you’ve opted in to the new Hello World notification system, you can receive texts from The Portland Clinic about MyChart notifications, links to join video visits, bill pay, and more. The “two-way” aspect of this platform means you can easily respond to these messages with simple prompts, allowing you to cancel appointments or pay bills, with additional features planned for the future. Once opted in, you can easily opt out or adjust your communication preferences at any time.

Sign me up!

Signing up is fast and easy. There are three ways you can opt in for notifications:

  1. Text “START” to 83176.
  2. Log in to MyChart and set up customized notifications in your Communication Preferences under the main menu.
  3. Ask a front desk team member to activate the notifications for you during your next clinic visit.
 Can I customize what notifications I receive?

Yes. Through MyChart, you will be able to access your communication preferences where you can specify which notifications you would like to receive. In our clinics, front desk staff can also assist you in updating your communication preferences.

Once I’ve opted in, is there a way to stop receiving notifications?

Yes, you can easily opt out through text at any time to cease all notifications. To opt-out of SMS text messages you can text “STOP” to 83176. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed.

To stop receiving certain notifications, you can adjust your setting preferences in MyChart under Communications Preferences in the main menu.

What if I am having issues with the SMS text system?

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword “HELP” for more assistance, or you can get help directly at 503-221-0161, ext. 8154 or email [email protected].

Do I have to pay for this new notification feature?

Texting with Hello World will not cost you anything, except for any possible text messaging charges associated with your cell phone carrier and service plan. Standard text messaging rates will apply.
