If I were to summarize my approach to health in one word, it would be balance. As a registered dietitian, I help people make diet and lifestyle changes that support their personal health goals. That means providing evidence-based recommendations for diet, physical activity, sleep hygiene and stress management, and then working closely with each individual to develop a personalized plan. I enjoy building relationships with my patients, getting to know what motivates them and taking time to understand the unique barriers they face.
I grew up in Texas and spent time in Florida and Colorado before moving to, and quickly falling in love with, the Pacific Northwest. I earned my bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Kansas State University’s distance program and completed my dietetic internship through the University of Houston. After working in a local hospital, I joined a private practice and became a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES). My experience spans a variety of nutrition issues, with a primary focus on diabetes and weight management.
Outside of work, I focus my time on traveling and adventuring with my husband and son. We love camping, biking, hiking and pretty much all outdoor activities. Like many, I often struggle to make time for self-care in this busy life. Reading, growing flowers, sewing and knitting help me relax, and exercising and stretching regularly help me manage stress. I enjoy cooking and sharing meals with family members and friends, and I absolutely love being a dietitian.
