Recognizing local healthcare heroes

Congratulations and thank you to our Nurse of the Year nominees!

Here at The Portland Clinic, we pride ourselves on maintaining an exceptional team of doctors and nurses who provide the highest quality of care for our neighbors. We believe that relationships matter, and building those relationships with trust and collaboration is key to keeping Portland healthy and happy. That’s why we are so proud, but not surprised, to learn that seven of our nurses are finalists in the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards.

The March of Dimes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing birth defects and infant mortality. The organization has raised $192.1 million for lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy. Every year, a handful of nurses are recognized for their selfless work in upholding the organization’s mission.

Congratulations to:

  • Ann Jones
  • Colleen Johnson
  • Elma Monaco
  • Peggy Dibblee
  • Megan McFadden
  • Pam Prichard
  • Vicki Swanson

Your hard work, leadership and dedication inspire us every day.

Additional congratulations are in order for Peggy Dibblee, who was recognized as Surgical Nurse of the Year! We thank Peggy for her many years of excellent patient care, all while mentoring new nurses and showing kindness to all.

Ask anyone in the healthcare industry and they’re sure to tell you that nurses are the backbone of maintaining a city’s health and wellness. The women and men who decide to go into the nursing field know they will be dealing with emotionally stressful and, at times, heartbreaking work. It’s common knowledge that nurses are healers, but they’re also confidants, support systems and advocates. Nurses, especially our staff at The Portland Clinic, put their hearts into their work every day to give their patients the best care possible.

The Rose City is home to 35,220 registered nurses working in doctor’s offices, hospitals, nursing homes and more. The Portland Clinic is proud of our seven finalists and the entire nursing staff who are taking tremendous care of the Rose City. Nursing is no easy task, and we’re so thankful for our team at The Portland Clinic.
