Family Medicine - Primary Care
I first became interested in nursing through my volunteer work with the American Red Cross, as a military spouse living in Germany. I enjoyed the experience of helping others so much that when we returned to the United States, I decided to go back to school to study nursing — and I haven’t looked back.
Early in my nursing career, I worked in neonatal intensive care and maternal-child nursing, then switched to working with college students at the University of Illinois. At the university, I discovered how much I enjoyed seeing patients continuously over several years — developing relationships and guiding them through those formative years was very rewarding. Working at the university also gave me the perfect opportunity to complete my master’s degree in nursing and become a family nurse practitioner.
As a nurse practitioner, I strive to be your partner in health care. It’s important to me to understand your concerns so we can work together toward your health goals. I especially enjoy women’s health, pediatrics, and working with the LGBTQ population.
My husband and I moved to Portland in 2017, following our adult children here. We love this area and are proud to call it home. Weekends will often find us hiking, canoeing, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. I also enjoy gardening and traveling, and I’ve recently taken up quilting.
