Otolaryngology (ENT)
I grew up in the Southeast, but as a physician with the Navy since 2007, I have had the opportunity to live in many parts of the United States. I was last stationed in Jacksonville, FL, but when I left active duty, my family decided to relocate to Oregon for the mountains, awesome summers, culture, and per my wife, “lack of mosquitos.”
I earned my medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed my residency training at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. I was drawn to medicine, and more specifically otolaryngology, by the unique opportunity that I have to make a meaningful impact on my patients’ health and quality of life — be it through a decisive assessment and treatment of a surgical condition or a lengthier treatment relationship (since most things are not a one-step fix!).
I am grateful every day to do this job and to work in such a collegial environment — it brings out the best in everyone. My practice spans the breadth of general otolaryngology for pediatric and adult patients, with a focus on sinus conditions and both functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty. I believe that the key to a positive doctor-patient relationship hinges on communication, understanding, and shared decision-making. I feel that it is my job to allow my patients to leave every appointment with confidence — knowing more about their condition, their treatment options, and a realistic pathway toward feeling better.
Outside of my practice, keeping balance is critical. I consider any time outdoors as relaxation, and in my free time I enjoy running, hiking, tennis. I also keep busy with my wife and our three school-aged children.
